Culture Of Manali



People of Manali have a distinct culture consisting of socio-cultural lifestyle. The indigenous community still is very much blended with their cultural habits. People of the region are culturally very rich and people from different parts of the country come here to enjoy the distinct culture. The legacy and tradition of their ancestral behavior and social activities are carried forward by the people of Manali. The culture and tradition of Manali remain unaffected by the regular development in the state. The richness of culture has made many foreigners love and settle in this "land of gods" many times also called as "Dev Bhoomi".

The region is home of many indigenous tribes from the area's ofHimachal Pradesh. Many tribes that exists in manali have either migrated from lahul ,spiti or kinnaur. They have found their second of home in this culturally rich Himalayan region. Gujjars from different parts of the states and corresponding states often come here to move off to a different place in the Himalayas.

Bless with the rich cultural the people of Manali have their own cultural dance and songs called "Nati" The folk songs are rich and show the ancestral history of the region. The topography of the manual is well suited for the people looking for adevnture. Many spots that exist here includes adventure packed Paragliding, skiing, river rafting, parasailing, trekking etc.
The people of the region still prefer traditional attire mainly in winters thou youth is way lured by the westernized environment. The traditional clothes of people here includes woollen made clothes called pattu.  People here believe in simple living with high perseverance and live close to nature . People here worship deities . Every village has their own deity and god with a dedicated temple to that deity.. the sages also known as" gur" acts as mediator between people of the region and gods words.
